Creating a Plug for integrating apps into GearPlug only requires three steps and a few minutes.
Choose your app: GearPlug offers a drop-down menu with the Plugs you can choose. Pick the app you wish to integrate and have your credentials nearby.
Follow the setup steps: GearPlug will guide you step-by-step while integrating your apps. Generally, you’ll just have to enter your credentials.
Authorize access by GearPlug: The last step is to authorize access to the app if necessary. Don’t forget to read the Terms of Use and Privacy Policies!
After setting up your Plugs, you can manage them from the “My Apps” menu. There, you’ll find all your Plugs and a few actions:
Access the Apps module: Click “My Apps” in the upper-left corner to access the apps module.
Manage your Plugs: Once in the menu, you’ll find a list of all your Plugs. Here, you can see their details, as well as rename, edit, and delete them.
Create new Plugs: To create a new Plug, choose the app in the drop-down menu and click “Create.” From there, just follow the instructions.
In the same module, you can check which Gears are using each Plug. On your Plug, you’ll find the “Gears” button. Clicking on it will open a list of all the Gears using the Plug.
This is very useful because it lets you access each Gear directly from the list. You don’t have to look for the Gear in the “Gears” menu.
You can’t know whether you managed to integrate your apps if you don’t test them. GearPlug makes things easy. You just have to click “Test” next to your app’s entry.
This triggers GearPlug to verify whether the Plug functions properly. In seconds, you’ll see a green check mark if it’s working—or a red “X” if there’s a problem. This way, you’ll know if you need to edit your Plug.
