# Add tag to contact

1. **Select Intercom** as your target app, as well as the connection you want to use. Click “Continue.”

2. **Choose “Add tag to contact”** as your action, the search field, and the update type for the action. Click “Continue” and the red gear to display the data template.

3. **Fill in the data template**, linking source and target fields. You must fill in both fields for the Gear to work. Click “Map” when you’re done.

4. **Verify that your target is active** in the top-right corner. Click “Add a target” to add more apps or “Save” to save your Gear.
