What’s a Gear?

A Gear is the union of two or more Plugs in GearPlug. Here, the integration splits into two sides: source Plugs (extract data) and target Plugs (receive and process data).

When creating a Gear, you generate a connection between a source Plug and two or more target Plugs. This automates data transfers between apps.

How do I use my Gears?

You can use Gears in many ways within GearPlug. For instance, you may synchronize data between a CRM and a database, transfer registers among cloud services, and send notifications.

Also, Gears automate tasks and extend the integrated apps’ functionalities.

Let’s say you have an app that only allows exporting data in one format. In this case, you can use a Gear to convert said data to another format before sending them to other apps. This way, you make the most out of your tools’ functionality without manually changing things.
